Our Mission

Wild Tykes is a non-profit organization 501(c)3 supporting the movement of quality, affordable nature based early childhood education for all members of the community.

Our Vision

Long term goals include supporting families as they explore Missouri's local wild spaces, providing nature-based training to early childhood educators, and helping create a sustainable future.

 Our Story

Wild Tykes was formed in 2019 by a group of teachers wanting to provide opportunities for children of all economic backgrounds to have availability to forest school. We began providing free events once a month around St. Louis where families could explore, connect, and emerge themselves in nature with the guidance of forest school educators. Wild Tykes became an official nonprofit 501(c)3 in summer of 2022.

In Fall of 2023, Wild Tykes started focusing not only on providing opportunities to get kids outside, but also educating and supporting the adults that care for children (parents, guardians, and teachers) so that they can venture into local wild spaces with confidence.
